Weekend!

Woo hoo! The weekend is here. Boy, am I really looking forward to Monday. I feel as though I can get nothing done with all these bodies in the house constantly. Seems like the work never ends...preparing meals, cleaning them up again, putting leftovers away, chasing kids around the house, taking kids (Brookie) off the table constantly, a million questions...whew.
Yesterday Brookie and I went to Innkeepers with friends for coffee, then we took our kids to the park to play until lunch time. Afterward, Brooklyn and I checked out a few consignment shops on Main Street we had never gone to before. One of them, Anonymously Yours, I had heard about at my Mom2Mom group. Boy, were their items expensive for used goods! I couldn't believe it! I will definitely be sticking with Goodwill and the Salvation Army, where women's shirts are less than $4 compared to $14 plus.
Larynn had to get her hair cut after school last night. She just got a little trim as she is trying to grow it out. I also let her get purple streaks in her hair. Maybe crazy, but I remember always being told by my mother what haircut I was getting and I always ended up with a Shirley Temple mullet. Yeah. So, I have decided to leave the hair decisions to my children and focus on preaching about the things in life that truly bear importance.
When I got home, after 4:00, my wonderful husband had nearly half the lawn mowed. Great time to do it. That way we could spend more of the weekend doing stuff together. For dinner we had leftovers. Shawn had cheeseburger and chicken rice, the kids had bbq chicken sandwiches and I had my yummy Italian beef on a hardroll. It was fantastic, especially because I didn't get lunch!
We ended the night watching a movie. I rented a few when I was in town. We watched the new Miley Cyrus movie, titled The Last Song. It was pretty good. After that, it was lights out for all of us. Logan put himself in bed at around 9:00. He couldn't take anymore.
This morning we started the day with cereal and fresh fruit. For lunch we had Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. It was delicious. HyVee breadsticks were amazing. Shawn left to go golfing with a few buddies so the children have decided to golf on the Wii since they didn't get to go along. They expected to? Yeah, right. Tonight, we are having homemade pizza (I think) and ending the day with a Strawberry Shortcake treat, and a few more movies!
